Facilities

At Teylers Museum, we do all we can to make your visit as pleasant as possible. You will be handed a floor plan on your arrival. The signposting in the museum rooms is deliberately unobtrusive. So you can get a taste of the authentic atmosphere of the past in ‘the oldest museum in the Netherlands’.

Museumcafé

Museum Café

Visit the beautiful Tuinzaal, or garden room, during your visit to the museum and enjoy the coffee, tea, pastries and lunches of Truffels, our in-house caterer. The café has a wonderful view of the quiet courtyard. Notice the ‘art tree’ by Sjoerd Buisman (1948): a lime tree resting on five feet.

The museum café can also be hired as a venue for receptions, both during and outside of museum opening times.

During Michelangelo and Men (up to and including 25 January 2026), we kindly ask you to bring as few personal items as possible. To protect the exhibition and collections, coats and bags larger than A4 size are not allowed in the museum. These must be stored in the (supervised) cloakroom.
