Triceratops

Triceratops

Triceratops in Haarlem

This summer the largest triceratops from Naturalis Biodiversity Centre will come to Haarlem. His skeleton can be seen in the Haarlem Center Library from 1 July to 14 August. In Teylers Museum you can delve into this giant dinosaur and its world all summer long. The historic Auditorium on the first floor, which is normally not part of your museum visit, turns into an expedition area where you can do field work. Experience what his skin felt like, see a 3D printed head of the triceratops, a number of printed bones and real teeth. Investigate how he must have lived!

Would you like to visit the triceratops in the Bibliotheek Haarlem Centrum?

Fascinating history

Enjoy the Summer at Teylers is a pleasant voyage of discovery, a refreshing plunge into Teylers’ fascinating history and collection. All summer long, Teylers will bustle with activities associated with the three pillars of the museum: the sciences, the arts and the ideals of its founder, Pieter Teyler (1702-1778).

De grote illusie

In the exhibition The Grand Illusion – 200 years of Virtual Realities, Teylers Museum takes you back to the nineteenth century, to the roots of virtual reality, augmented reality and fakes. The exhibition room of the oldest museum in the Netherlands transforms into a house of mirrors. Experience nineteenth-century and contemporary virtual realities: have a look in the highlight of Teylers, the Kaiserpanorama, step inside a kaleidoscopic space, look through a VR headset and be entranced by images made by artificial intelligence – or are they? From mirrors and projectors to the digital genius of AI: The Grand Illusion shows the experience of yesterday is not so different from the experience of today. Roll up, roll up for The Grand Illusion!
