Loans
Teylers Museum has works of art and scientific objects in its collection. They range from paintings, drawings and medals to instruments, fossils, minerals and books. Teylers Museum wants to display these objects to a wide public and make them available for research purposes. Dutch and foreign institutions can apply to receive these objects on loan. Each application will be examined and assessed individually.
The loan application
Loan applications must be made at least six months before the start of the loan period by letter addressed to the director:

The loan application should contain the following information:
- name and address of the institution
- name, function and e-mail address of the contact person
- exhibition title and period
- reason for the application
- list of objects requested in as much detail as possible (consult collectie online if need be)
- a facility report of the location

Costs
Teylers Museum does not charge for loans. Depending on the nature of the loan, however, the following costs may be passed on to the borrowing institution:
- administration
- minor conservation treatment
- preparing objects for display and transportation
- packing
- courier
Borrower’s responsibilities
In addition to providing a safe and professional work environment, the borrower will ensure that the loans will be insured and transported professionally.

Teylers Museum loans procedure
Upon receipt of your application you will be sent a confirmation of receipt by e-mail.
We will endeavour to reply to your application as speedily as possible, in principle at least three months prior to the start of the loan period.
